Cut down on the use of electricity.
Air-conditioning units could  make consumption of cooling agents that deplete the Ozone Layer, the atmospheric buffer from harmful ultra-violet rays. Unfortunately, force-feeding cool air into your home is simply a temporary means to keeping you cool. As a matter of fact, once you expose your body to sudden temperature changes after you exit your air-conditioned home or room, your body most likely will not be able to take the change and you fall ill. Instead, air your home regularly. Wear lighter clothes during hot weather and consume more cooling liquids to help you feel cooler.

Give though of ways to make your home a green building. Green buildings take into consideration weather conditions and maximize the use of natural daylight hours to cut down the dependency on electrical lamps, and the orientation of the buildings to catch the wind and keep the building air naturally fresh and circulating.  Instead of carpeting floors that result in trapping unhealthy dirt, go for cooling flooring options that are easier to maintain, such as tiles, for tropical homes.

Hardy solar panels built into the infrastructure of buildings will not make them unsightly but help you save money off your bills on utilities. You can use solar energy for lighting, heating hot water, and a host of other electrical conveniences. You may feel the financial pinch initially. However, add up the deductions on your bills over the years, and you will make up the temporary loss in no time.

Cut down on the dependency on fuel.
Carpool or take the mass transportation systems where possible. You also save money for other purposes and you can take a nap and avoid a terrible accident trying to drive when you experience fatigue.  Walk or cycle and you also help keep your figure trim and in better shape.

                  GOING GREEN.
Green is a word we hear a lot about lately.  It appears that pop culture, and society as a whole, are suddenly “into” that color. “Going Green” is a popular term used, in a general sense, for lessening our detrimental impact upon the earth’s environment, both on personal as well as on global.

Going green need’t mean going without the little comforts that make life more bearable. It is selecting alternatives that make your life more advantageous without harming Earth further or depleting her resources. You may think of going green as just saving Earth's natural resources. Going green may also mean a lifestyle for you that improves your health at little cost.
